
PROGRAM ELIGIBILITY

Youth between 9yrs -17yrs at the time of the commission of the criminal or delinquent act are eligible for Teen Justice services

Offense must have occurred within Macon County
-
Youth must reside in Macon County
-
Youth must have parental/guardian consent and signatures for enrollment
Eligible Offenses:
Cases NOT eligible for Teen Justice include:

Class A Misdemeanors
-
Class B Misdemeanors
-
Class C Misdemeanors
-
Class 1 Felonies
-
Class 2 Felonies
-
Class 3 Felonies
-
Class 4 Felonies
-
Chronic Truancy cases (students who have accumulated 9 or more unexcused absences from school for the current academic year)

City Ordinance Violations
-
Previous Teen Justice referrals
-
-
Original referrals must be more than 3 years old
-
Must be a different offense/violation than previous referral

Cases resulting in Station Adjustments
-
Youth ages 7yrs or younger
-
Youth over the age of 18 at the time of the offense/delinquent act
-
Forcible Felony charges (i.e. Armed Robbery, Home Invasion)
-
Gun charges
-
Sexual assault charges
-
Sexual abuse charges
-
Previous Teen Justice referrals (if previous referrals are within six months of the new referral).
